WEEK1:2                              TOPIC: COMMUNITY

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: By the end of this lesson, Learners should be able to:
• Comprehend the meaning and the needs of a community.
• Describe ways by which members of the community show their culture.
• Collect few reasons why communities have laws.

WEEK 3:4                          TOPIC: FAMILY AND CULTURE

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, learners will be able to:

• Understand the meaning of family, custom and tradition.
• Describe the importance of family in their own words.

• Using a Venn diagram, compare and contrast culture and tradition.

WEEK5.                                     TOPIC: CITIZEN

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Learners should be able to:
• Recognize the possible ways one can become a citizen.
• Explain their responsibilities and duties as citizens of Nigeria.
• Memorize their right as citizens of Nigeria always.

WEEK6 AND 8.                            TOPIC: THE GOVERNMENT

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson,Learners should be able to:
• Discuss the duties of the arms of government.
• Recognize the levels of government.
• Explain the purpose of governments.

 

WEEK 9.                                        TOPIC: LAW

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Learners should be able to:
• Deduct the reasons for laws in a community.
• State the main importance of law.
• Analyze the important laws in Nigeria.

WEEK 1: REVISION

WEEK 2-3: DIVISION OF LABOUR

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Learners should be able to:

• Describe how assigning specific task to workers affect the total production output of the workers. 
• Analyze the fact that division of labour increases productivity of workers.

WEEK 3-4: DRUG AND DRUG ABUSE.

Learners should be able to:

  • Deduce how drug abuse can affect friends and family and become a public health problem for society at large.
  • Propose reasons why people abuse drugs.

WEEK 5-6: FOOD POISON AND ILLNESSES 

Learners should be able to:

  • Identify a potentially hazardous food
  • Analyze a problem involving food poisoning and proffer possible solution.

WEEK 8-9: ROAD ACCIDENT

Learners should be able to:

  • Understand how some attitudes and behaviour can cause accidents
  • Explore the wide-ranging impacts of road accidents on pedestrians, cyclists, drivers and their family and friends

WEEK 11: NIGERIA’S NATURAL RESOURCES.

Learners should be able to:

  • Describe Nigeria’s natural resources and their roles in the economic development in Nigeria.
  • Analyze the environmental impact of mining natural resources on host communities as well as habitats.  Third term begins

  • MONEY AND SAVINGS

    Learners should be able to:

    • Set their own savings goals and tell how they could earn income to meet them.
    • Justify why having a budget and keeping records of their spending and saving habits helps them make better choices.

    NIGERIA: RELIEF AND DRAINAGE 

    Learners should also be able to

    • Identify and describe landforms and major water bodies in Nigeria.
    • discuss the concept of relief and drainage and how they affect the vegetation of an area
    • explore, understand and explain the importance of relief and drainage of an area
    • Explain the different vegetation belt and Landforms in Nigeria

    CONSERVATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES

    Learners will be able to:       

    • To grow a tree
    • Act responsibly in order to conserve the natural resources.
    • Discuss some natural resources used to make common objects.
    • Describe some ways to conserve natural resources.

    POLLUTION

    Learners should also be able to:

    – describe pollution with regards agents and types of pollution

    – identify and explain the various causes of pollution

    – explain the effects of pollution on the environment

    – state ways of reducing pollution in our society
